Coming to Shenyang for the first time you will find that there is many turist attractions here well worth a visit or two. Most of these are within easy reach of all the major hotels, eigther by taxi, bus or walking. The city's long history has created splendid traditions and left numerous scenic spots and historic sites such as the Xinle Ruins. The magnificent Taiwan Stupa, built in 1044, is one of the most famous of these. The Shenyang Imperial Palace, built more than 360 years ago, is second only to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Today's city leaders have created 18 parks and gardens along the banks of the 14.5 km South Canal River Park which encircles the ancient city. |
